AutoPay Privacy Policy

1. Description of the System

AutoPay is a parking system in which vehicles are automatically identified based on their registration number. A parking session starts and ends automatically when the vehicle enters and exits the parking area.
 
Parking can be paid for using:
 
  • automatic payment
  • a payment machine
  • online payment after parking
  • a mobile payment application

2. Personal Data Processed

The personal data processed may include:
 
  • vehicle registration number
  • image of the vehicle
  • parking session information
  • payment information
  • user account information (where applicable)
  • technical information (e.g. IP address when using the service)

3. Processing Logic

  • a camera identifies the vehicle upon entry and exit
  • a parking session is created automatically
  • the parking session is linked to the selected payment method
  • where necessary, the parking session is transferred to invoicing or debt collection

4. Purposes of Processing

Personal data is processed for the following purposes:
 
  • identification and management of parking sessions
  • payment processing
  • provision of parking services
  • customer service and handling of complaints
  • prevention of misuse and fraud

5. Recipients of Personal Data

6. EuroPark’s Role

Depending on the parking location, EuroPark acts either as:
 
  • the data controller; or
  • the data processor.
EuroPark’s role is determined on a parking location-specific basis.

7. Data Retention

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the parking service and to comply with applicable legal obligations.

8. Automated Processing

The system is based on automatic vehicle registration number recognition. This information is processed to determine and manage the vehicle’s entry and exit times.
