Smooth parking at EuroPark Autopay locations

EuroPark Autopay is a modern parking system designed to make parking as smooth as possible. Autopay locations have no barriers or parking tickets; vehicles are identified by their licence plate number, so parking starts and ends automatically when you enter and exit the area. Traffic flows smoothly and parking is easier, as there is no need to queue at barriers or estimate your parking time in advance.

How Autopay parking works

1. Drive into the area

Autopay locations are barrier-free. Drive into the parking area as usual; cameras read your licence plate from both the front and the rear of the vehicle. Licence plate recognition automatically starts the parking session, so no tickets or barrier operation are required. If free parking is available at the location (e.g. 1 hour), the system recognises the free period and charging only starts after it has ended. In such cases, the benefit is clearly communicated in the on-site information texts or signage.

2. Park your vehicle

Once you have parked your vehicle in an available parking space, you can run your errands or stay for as long as you need. The licence plate recognition system accurately records the parking duration, and the amount charged later is based on the actual parking time. If you park in a parking garage, pedestrian access doors may be locked for security reasons, especially at night. In this case, a door reader is located near the pedestrian door, where you enter your vehicle’s licence plate number to open the door. At some locations, the door is opened by scanning a QR code on the door and then entering the licence plate number in the field displayed on your phone.

Please always check the specific parking location’s website for pedestrian access opening hours to avoid any inconvenience.

3. Choose your payment method

At Autopay locations, parking is paid for only after the parking session has ended. Several payment options are available:

  • Automatic payment – You can register as an Autopay user and link your vehicle’s licence plate number and payment card to your account. Once automatic payment is activated, parking fees will be charged automatically to your card when you exit the parking area. Registration can be completed in the Autopay – Park & Charge app or at autopay.io. You can download the Autopay app even after parking has already started; the payment will only be charged when you exit the area. Thereafter, whenever you park at any EuroPark Autopay location, the camera system will recognise your vehicle and the parking fee will be charged automatically at the end of the parking session, with no need to queue at a pay station or estimate your parking time in advance.

  • Pay after exit (within 48 hours) – If you do not wish to register, you can pay for your parking within 48 hours of exiting the parking area at autopay.io by entering your vehicle’s licence plate number and payment card details. No separate login or account registration is required.

  • Pay at a pay station – You can also pay for parking at a pay station before exiting the parking area. Enter your licence plate number (without a hyphen) and follow the on-screen instructions. After payment, you have 15 minutes to exit the area.

  • Mobile payment – At Autopay locations, you can also use the EasyPark or ParkMan mobile apps. If you choose to use a mobile payment app, you must start the app when parking begins; the app will recognise the area automatically or you can select it using the area code. When you exit the parking area, the app will automatically stop the payment. Please note that mobile service providers may charge their own service fees in addition to the parking fee.

Invoice – If none of the other payment methods are used, an invoice will be sent to your home address with a €5 invoicing fee added. You can avoid this additional charge by using one of the payment options listed above.

4. Exit freely

When you drive out of the parking area, cameras read your licence plate number again and the parking session ends automatically. If you have chosen automatic payment, the fee is charged immediately. If you prefer another payment method, please remember to complete the payment using one of the options described above.

Door readers

For safety reasons, the pedestrian doors are locked 24/7 or open only during the day. If a door is closed, you can enter the car park using the door reader. There are always instructions placed next to the door reader to explain how the door reader works. As a rule, you will need your vehicle’s registration number to open the door.
